Cydia Store Sells Jailbroken iPhone Apps

http://images.techtree.com/ttimages/story/99838_cs-320.jpg

iPhone and iPod Touch owners rejoiced when Jay Freeman released Cydia, a software installer for jailbroken iPhone OS. The Cydia store was launched on Saturday for developers to sell their apps for jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Independent developers will now have a platform to sell their applications outside Apple's 'Walled Garden' - the App Store.

Jailbreaking is a process to enable an iPhone OS-based device to bypass the digital rights management for privilege escalation. Users can install applications that are developed by independent developers whose applications aren't available in the official App Store.

Cydia application installer already includes applications like Cycoder that turns the iPhone into a camcorder, and PdaNet, which turns the iPhone into a Wi-Fi hotspot, using the data connection.

Freeman's Cyntact is the first paid package in the Cydia Store. Cyntact shows the contact's profile picture in the contact list. However, this application faces some conflict with the IntelliScreen app.

Freeman in an interview with Wall Streen Journal said that Cydia Store "intends to charge developers no more than the commission Apple does for his site's billing services."

It has been reported that two more rival App Stores are underdevelopment of which one focuses on selling porn-themed games for the iPhone.

Jesse Jane talks Porn and iPhone

There’s always new stuff going on. Just in toys, they’re always coming up with these inventions like Sybians and crazy machines to have sex with or get tied up with.

Now we’re shooting on the Red [digital HD] cameras — I think Digital Playground is the only one — and we have all the Blu-ray coming out. I’m learning with my little camera and my website, where I’m able to upload daily diary videos, which is fun. Technology is getting a lot easier to make things more personal with your fans. They like the daily clips.

Now we can watch porn with our iPhones, and in the next month or two, with Digital Playground we’re going to be able to stream, Twitter and live iChat on our website from our iPhones.”

Jane also hearted her iPhone, which she calls a lifesaver during downtime.

“I love my iPhone because I can sit there and check my e-mail and update my website from my phone while I’m sitting there waiting at the airport.”

iPhone apps: Sports Gambling

Several new additions to the App Store promise to see sports fans through this barren stretch with an oasis of information about their favorite sports and teams.

Prolific app maker GP Apps has spent the past few days ramping up its team-specific iFan offerings for folks with a college basketball jones. The iFan app offers the latest news, scores, and schedule information tailored to your favorite team.

Finally, fans of other sports can turn to a pair of programs from iApp Ventures. Horse Racing Live delivers horse-racing headlines directly to any iPhone or second-generation iPod touch while Nascar Live offers to do the same for stock-car racing. Horse Racing Live costs $10 while Nascar Live costs $5.

Watch Out Wal-Mart; AT&T Offers $99 iPhone

It looks like AT&T is the only place to get a $99 Apple iPhone 3G. For now, anyway. In the post-holiday crunch, AT&T has launched the sale of refurbished iPhones to unload some inventory and offer cost-conscious shoppers a discount. In AT&T Wireless' online store, a refurbished 8 GB iPhone runs $99 with a two-year contract, while a refurbished 16 GB iPhone is $199. Both are $100 more when purchased new, but carry the same contract terms.

Television for the iPhone

Network limitations somewhat stymie what the iPhone and iPod touch can do with video, but that hasn’t prevented developers from trying to harness the power of moving pictures on the devices. Mayakama.com’s Television is a video aggregator that lets you watch 61 news (and news-ish) programs on more than 30 channels, including CNN, NBC, the Associated Press, and Cnet, as well as several foreign news services. The app also includes videos from the Onion, College Humor TV, VH1, and MTV. The app’s successes and limitations show just how far developers have to go before getting video right.

Is Tom Cruise finished?

On the big Christmas Day box office day, Tom Cruise’s Valkyrie debuted at a disappointing number #4. This was already a movie that was re-scheduled to this big money making day due to fears about its performance. Valkryrie follows Cruise’s last flop, Lions for Lambs, which did not even break even at the box office and was one of the worst performing films of 2007. Was it Cruise’s brashness with NBC’s Matt Lauer interview or his jab at Brooke Shield’s pregnancy pills? Too political? Bad religion PR? He even recently apologized for Oprah’s couch jump.

This once was man that was making headlines for his marathon of $100 million gross movies. What happened?

The $99 iPhone 3G finally

Speculation that Wal-Mart would sell a $99 iPhone was put to rest on Friday when the official announcement came out sans the double digits.

However, all hope is not lost.

AT&T is selling a refurbished 8GB iPhone 3G in black for $99 with a two-year service contract through Wednesday, New Year's Eve. That beats AT&T's previous price tag of $149.

OK, OK, it's not new. But refurbished is close enough.

The refurbished 16GB model in black or white is also being sold for a $50 discount with a $199 price tag. But that doesn't have the magical ring to it of $99.

iphone 3G is great for porn?

Oh girl, I’m so excited for iPhone 2.0. When the first iPhone came out, I considered duct taping my mac, iPod, camera and phone together so that I could have one too…alas, that did not work out. But now Apple is releasing 2.0 for only 200 bucks, and poor college students unemployed (well sort of) writers (read: bloggers) have a chance to look technologically fierce too! Think of all the amazing things I can do! Mapquest things, read about politics, donate online to charitable organizations–oh, and according to Time and most young males that think with the other brain, look at porn. It is, according to one source, “by far the porn-friendliest phone”. Oh hellllllllz yeah.

This is something I could not think of on my own. I needed Time.com to tell me. Apparently iPhone porn is up and coming. How do I feel about this? I’m not quite sure. But I know how some do. Here is the best quote from the article:

Blogger Jason Swifter has already imagined one such scenario. “I wish there was an application that allowed you to undress people by dragging your fingers across the screen and literally dragging it off,” he wrote on iPhonematters.com.

Jason, you sick, imaginative, creeper! Your mother must be so proud!

I wouldn’t use my iPhone for porn. Porn just isn’t my jam. James McAvoy is though–so I would stalk him as hardcore as a 13 year old stalks Zac Efron. Rawr! Alright, occasionally my friend and I have been known to stalk Zefron as well. But seriously, think of all the awkward situations that this new trend could bring. Would you risk it? I want answers.

CEO responds to iPhone ‘porn’ accusations

A story has been developing about an apparent pornographic application being pulled from the iPhone App Store due to its content. The app in question contained wallpaper for your iPhone of scantily clad ladies, and was deemed to be inappropriate content for sale via the App Store.

The app was pulled because of its non-pornographic content. We have contacted FunMobility to respond to their response, and will bring you more on this when we have it.

The most interesting thing out of this, however, is a sneak peak into Apple’s clandestine App Store etiquette. Don’t expect any gang-related applications or pro-smoking ones in the near future. - Marc Chacksfield

This is why we have searched and found a free iPhone Porn Site just for you guys!!!! Because apple doesn’t want to be associated with pornography, and we can provide it for you just the same.
